Microsoft's Halo 3

Microsoft's Halo 3 is a monster. When it launched back in September, the game sold a whopping 3.3 million units in the U.S. More recently, Microsoft Corporate VP of Global Marketing Jeff Bell, revealed that Bungie's masterpiece had surpassed five million units sold worldwide.
A closer look at the data from The NPD Group through November shows that 4.1 million copies have been sold in the U.S. With 7.9 million Xbox 360s purchased in the U.S. to date, some simple math indicates that an impressive 52 percent of all Xbox 360 owners in America have picked up Halo 3.

Xbox 360 owners played Halo 3

The GamerMetrics predictions, as well as the actual sales data provided by the NPD Group, covers the first two calendar months of each game's release.
"While the model was able to accurately predict the market size for Halo 3, it did not foresee the cannibalization effect that Master Chief would have on other September releases," Williams said. While games like Skate, with sales of 225,887 units compared to predictions of 350,000, and Call of Juarez, which sold 72,317 units against predictions of 125,000, fared considerably worse than expected, it was Stranglehold that fell the farthest behind the GamerMetrics predictions: 115,813 units sold compared to a predicted total of 450,000.
"The underlying reason behind this trend is Halo 3 unmatched replayability, especially with regards to the online multiplayer features," Williams said. "During September and October, a significant portion of Xbox 360 owners played Halo 3 exclusively, with little attention given to other new releases."

Halo 3

A federal lawsuit was filed against Microsoft and Bungie recently alleging that Halo 3 “routinely, consistently, and systematically ‘froze,’ crashed,’ or ‘locked up’” the plantiff’s Xbox 360. The plaintiff is Randy Nunez and he is seeking class-action status along with $5 million in damages plus costs and attorneys’ fees.
The lawsuit also claims that “many consumers” have these issues, making their console “totally inoperable” and the court papers site “industry Internet web sites, weblogs, and message boards” as the sources to prove these problems exist. It also states that Microsoft and Bungie have “received numerous complaints” from consumers over the phone and on their support forums without admitting these alleged Halo 3 issues to the public.

Halo 3 multiplayer maps on 11th December

Halo 3 multiplayer experience is about to get even better as Halo 3 players will be able to enjoy three all new multiplayer maps on 11th December as part of the Heroic Map Pack, the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios to come via Xbox Live.
Available for 800 Microsoft Points exclusively on Xbox Live Marketplace, each map presents a totally different play style, according to Microsoft. Standoff's symmetrical valley, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types, while Rat's Nest's vast, labyrinthine passages bring something new to the Halo multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise, strongly influenced by Campaign mode, ideal for big team battles. Finally, Foundry is the "ultimate Forge map" – players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, place stairways, walls, bridges and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map.
All three maps will become available for free download via Xbox Live Marketplace in early 2008, just prior to the next wave of all new Halo 3 multiplayer maps.
The Forge also enables players to edit and customise all three maps.

Halo 3 Weapons Tips

Some weapons were meant to be used for certain things. The rocket pods are used to take out vehicles (if you aim them at vehicles they will home in on them, they are extremely inaccurate when aimed at someone on foot). The sniper/beam rifle is used to take out infantry from a long distance ( you don't get much ammo for these, you only get 20 shots with a sniper rifle; 4 per mag, the beam rifle cant be fired repeatedly without it overloading, also you don't get auto aim with any of these).
Establish a perimeter- In one sided objective games you only have to worry about they enemies who are giving you problems when you are defending a base or location. If someone is in your base trying to blow it up, kill them. If they are just wondering aimlessly outside not knowing what to do, don't. This is not Slayer.
Keep your distance- When some one has a deadly short range weapon (the coveted Covenant energy sword for example) it does not mean they are invincible. Just keep your distance and spray bullets into his guts.
Stay out of the spotlight- When you are playing a game you do not have to take the obvious routes Take other routes and pick them off from a distance. You can also duck to stay off other people's radar or even sneak attack a single person before I pick up the sword I wait behind a wall and when a enemy comes nail him.

Forge Halo 3

Forge is a tool made for players to insert game objects into the existing maps. Bungie stated this is more of a game type than a tool. Almost all weapons, vehicles, and interactive objects can be inserted into the maps and moved around. You can do anything from placing large number of your favorite vehicles or from stripping the map clean of many objects. Forge will also allow you to add objects in real time. You will be able to save custom setups and share and download them using the File Sharing feature.

One Bomb – Defense Halo 3

Defense arguably requires less strategy than offense, but that doesn’t mean it’s easier. The Power Drainer that spawns in the base may be tempting to use, but it will most likely be a hindrance if misused. If that thing lands on the bomb spot, you’ll have a tough time disarming. Try to use it against groups of enemies, as they tend to rush in groups while on offense, especially through the lower doors and the gate. The Bubble Shield could help with defense, but you run the risk of it being used against you.
As a general rule, try to keep all equipment away from the bomb spot while on defense. There are enough weapons in the base for most situations. There are two turrets up top that can be detached and brought into the base, a couple Needlers, a Brute Shot, a Spartan Laser, and a shotgun a little ways away outside the base. If the enemy rushes in a vehicle, and it survives the ensuing fight, park any vehicles you have on top of the bomb spot, just to hinder your enemies that much more. They make a nice big explosion when hit with grenades, too. Another good idea is to head over to the Bubble Shield and keep it out of the enemy’s hands. Enemy snipers will almost certainly be a threat, so try to stay behind the large crates and in the main stairwell as much as possible. There’s not too much to defense, just kill everyone, and keep them the hell away from that little circle.

Hunters in halo 3 legendary Tip

On the storm level, after you kill the Scarab, walk up that platform towards the door. When you get up there, turn to your left and there is a couple RoketPods. Bring it with you, just drop it and fight the brutes and pick it and go on. The pod will kill the hunters with 3 shots each.
On the Ark, when you see the hunters. Make sure you clear area of jakels. Save some sniper for the hunters. They will stay behind when everything pulls back so the hunters can work. Stay on that high platform, if you hide up there they will start looking and turn their backs to you. Keep an eye to your right, cause they will try to come around behind you. When you see one start to head that way, when he get to corner of the highwall he has to make a little bunny hop over a step. That gives you a LONG time to make the shot on his back. And if you hit him he'll turn around to go back to his place near his buddy. If he manages to get up there with you, through a the shield down near the edge of the platform, allot of times he will break it and jump back down if he doesn't see you.
On the Covenant, don't fire the laser more than 3 times, to would be better. Take out the first turret with it, I try to let the first brute get between me and the turent for a double kill. From where you popped the first turret, look across to near the back of the antiair-wairth you'll see two brutes side steeping in the open. They'll cross each other every 10or15 seconds, try for a double kill there too. I know there is a laser near the downed pelican but if the chief misses you he always and hits the downed pelican with the fuel rod gun and throwing it who knows where, so don't count on it being there. Save it till you get to the hunters. Two shots to kill the hunters, save the last shot for upstairs for the cheifton(sometimes I can get a triple kill on him). If you hit him alone it "should" kill him if you hit him in the face. But if you hit him and a couple of brutes he'll try to turn on his over shield.
The main tactic i use, is hide when they appear, then they will eventually start looking for you. when one turns around, try to stick his back. when you do this, the big plate will fall off, allowing for any precision weapon (sniper/beam rifle, and BR/carbine) to finish it quickly

Halo 3

Halo 3 has shown that it can drive hardware sales and that there is room for another price cut in the console, analysts say. And with more big titles coming during this holiday season and early next year, Xbox 360 console could move ahead of Sony's PS3 in the next few months and even overpower the Wii in the long run.

Halo 3 Skulls Tips

Iron
Level: Sierra 117
Directions: This skull is at the end of the level. It is located on the roof of the building to the left of the building where Sergeant Johnson is being held captive, if you're facing Johnson. You can gain access to the roof by jumping onto the pipes. Travel all the way over to the left side of the roof, and the skull is concealed in the corner.
Difficulty: Normal, Heroic, Legendary
Achievement Icon: A skull marked with a stylized drawing of a hammer
Effect: When playing co-op, if either player dies the game restarts you at your last checkpoint, similar to Halo 2 on Legendary. On solo, it restarts the mission
Point Multiplier: 3x
Black Eye
Level: Crow's Nest
Directions: It's in the same room you start in. Hanging down from the ceiling is some piping. On top of this piping, on the side nearest to the large display (the one that Hood appears on) lies the “Black Eye Skull”. You can gain access to the pipes a few different ways, one of the easiest however is to jump on the crate like thing, then jumping onto pipes from there.
Difficulty: Normal, Heroic, Legendary
Achievement Icon: Skull marked with a bruise under one eye.
Effect: Your shield does not charge normally. To charge your shields you must hit an enemy with a melee attack (anything but the Energy Sword).
Point Multiplier: 1.5x
Extra: At the screen where you can turn the skulls on, this skull has a black 'bag' under the left eye hence 'Black Eye'.
Tough Luck
Level: Tsavo Highway
Directions: At the point in the level when the huge covenant cruiser flies overhead (after the first shield blocking the road), on your left is some large piping following the road you are walking on. Underneath this piping are some support beams that extend out over a cliff. Jump onto the first of these beams, and travel to the end of it. Look to your left, and the Tough Luck Skull will be sitting on a rock extending from a cliff edge.
Difficulty: Normal, Heroic, Legendary
Achievement Icon: A skull marked with three clovers.
Effect: Enemies always make every chance to dodge and avoid your grenades.
Point Multiplier: 1.5x
Catch
Level: The Storm
Directions: In the first outdoor area with the two AA Wraiths, the skull is on top of the silo over by the ramp that leads to the next area of the level. Destroying the AA Wraiths will cause the skull to disappear. You can use a vehicle to get a boost to the top of the silo or jump on another player's head in Co-op.
Difficulty: Normal, Heroic, Legendary
Achievement Icon: Skull marked with a stylized drawing of a plasma grenade.
Effect: AI will toss more grenades.
Point Multiplier: 1.5x
Catch Skull
Catch Skull Effect: Your Enemies throw LOTS of grenades.
Catch Skull Location:
The “Catch Skull” can be found on the fourth level, in the first area where you need to destroy the Wraith Tanks. When you enter this area, do not eliminate the Wraith Tanks (The skull appears when the tanks appear, and disappears when the tanks are destroyed). The Skull is located on top of the circular building next to the Anti-Air Tank. You can access the roof using a grenade jump, or jumping on the back of a hog.
Fog Skull
Fog Skull Effect: “You’ll miss those eyes in the back of your head.” You lose your motion sensor.
Fog Skull Location: The Fog Skull is found on the level “Floodgate“, at the very beginning of the level. As you are walking down from the anti-air gun you destroyed in the previous mission, you encounter a ramp (next to a missile launcher). Around this ramp, you hit a checkpoint. At this point, you should also hear a marine yelling, “There! Over There!”.
You have a small window of opportunity at this point, but it is fairly easy to get the Fog Skull. Look up, and to the right, directly at the roof of the building next to the missle launcher. There is a single flood form (not to be mistaken with the two other flood forms jumping in front of you) which is holding the skull. Kill him before he jumps, and he will drop the skull down to the ground where you can retrieve it. Too early, and the skull will get stuck on the roof though, so just time it carefully.
Famine Skull
Famine Skull Effect: Enemies drop 50% of the ammo they usually drop.
Famine Skull Location:
This skull requires a bit of grenade jumping skill/luck.
You can find the “Famine Skull” on the sixth level, near the point where the path you follow branches off into two sections (one leading to the area where you need to let the tanks across the bridge, and the other leading towards the area where you meet up with the frigate). Take the right path, as you would if you were completing the mission, and you’ll notice a structure above you / to the left of you (near the area where you encounter a few ghosts).
You need to scale the rocks to the right of the structure, and then travel across it so that you pass 3 of the large support beams extending into the cliffs. Inside of the fourth support beam, lies the Famine Skull. A well placed grenade should have you up there in no time!
Tough Luck Skull
Tough Luck Skull Effect: Your enemies never back down, always make their saving throws, and always charge you.
Tough Luck Skull Location:
The “Catch Skull” is found on the third level, at the point in the level when the huge covenant cruiser flies overhead. On your left is some large piping following the road you are walking on. Underneath this piping are some support beams that extend out over a cliff. Jump onto the first of these beams, and travel to the end of it. Look to your left, and the Tough Luck Skull will be sitting on a rock extending from a cliff edge.

Halo 3 shotgun tip

One of my best things to do on matchmaking is 1. Use the shotgun at any given moment that you have and atempt to always melee directly after you shoot to make sure that they are dead shield sometimes wil just go down and they wont go down 2. If the other person has a shotgun, then keep distance between you and the shotgunner, and shoot them a lot. Playing with friends on your team will also help you have better communication.Try and make head shots for a quick kill.

Premium HDMI-enabled 360 European gamers

It looks like European gamers who were feeling slightly left out by Microsoft’s recent decision to bundle Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance with every console sold in the US have something to look forward to themselves with a suspected Euro bundle appearing on the internet.
The bundle looks to include a Premium HDMI-enabled 360, a copy of Halo 3 and a Play & Charge kit. The leak supports previous rumours claiming a bundle was indeed headed towards Europe.
The receipt, also pictured, shows the bundle to have cost €384.90 which works out to around £265. If the package does hit the UK at that price it promises a hefty saving of £40 compared to buying each item alone.

Halo 3 ties up the loose ends

Unlike Halo 2, whose cliffhanger ending left fans both frustrated and itching for the next installment, Halo 3 ties up the loose ends. Yet I can’t help but wonder what’s next for the Halo universe.

Bungie may say it’s the end, but it’s hard to believe that the Master Chief is ready to hang up his rifle quite yet.

Halo 3 multiplayer tips

Teamwork- On team based games you will need to work as a team. This is hard to do knowing you are with a bunch of random players so what I would do is invite your friends in your party.
Newbie playlists- Bungie has a Basic Training playlist for those new to Halo. This will match you up with 3 other players for a game of Slayer on Guardian. With 4 players in the game there shouldnt be any lag and will make good practice.
The Guardians- All maps have their gameplay bounderies (Sandtrap and Snowbound for example). Some will be open for you to exceed, however the "guardians" will kill ya for it. These boarders can be easily identified by markers or flares on the ground. Just dont go awald and your good.
Sabotoge- In a single CTF or assault game get someone with a rocket launcher, grenades, and other explosives to get to the enemy's spawn point and destroy all their vehicles. This will make the defending team's job alot easier. Also if you are done with a vehicle, destroy it so no one else can use it agianst you.
Tank's Ultimate Weakness- The greatest threat to a scorpion tank or wraith is someone on foot. They can hold a spartian laser or just come up to your tank and beat you to death. Always have someone on the tank's gun turret to prevent this from happening.
Heavy Weapons- Weapons that are heavy (rocket pods, detached turrets, ect) can slow you down and limit what you can do. You heavy weapons only in one area, when you done with it drop it and get your other weapon back.
Landmarks- In teambased games use landmarks to tell other people where you are and name locations. There are more places in a map than "the gate" or "the windmill". In territories you can use territory numbers.

Halo series

Speaking about the enduring appeal of the entire Halo series, Rein states: "I don't look at Halo and go, 'That's the greatest graphics'. I don't look at Halo and go, 'Wow those are the coolest enemies ever'. I look at Halo and go 'They nailed it'. This game is so fun to play, everything works just right."

Halo 3 players online

Although it has been out less than a week, Halo 3 has toppled the long-running champ of Xbox Live, Gears of War. Using Bungie.net as reference, there have been anywhere between 100,000 to 500,000 Halo 3 players online at any given time. 1.5 million unique players have logged in within the last 24 hours alone. Yeah, I think it’s safe to say the new champ is here to stay. Anyway, here’s the top-ten list of 360 Live activity this week according to Major Nelson:

1. Halo 3
2. Gears of War
3. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
4. Madden NFL 08
5. Call of Duty 4 Beta
6. Guitar Hero II
7. BioShock
8. Forza Motorsport 2
9. Call Of Duty 3
10. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Demo)

Halo 3 office record

Halo 3 easily surpassed its predecessor, 2004's Halo 2, which racked up $142 million on the first day. The $68 game also beat the $67 million US opening-day movie box office record, set by Spider-Man 3.

Halo 3 Bubble shields

Bubble shields are invaluable, especially when Master Chief's facing a host of enemies and cover isn't readily available. Dropping one will give you the time you need to reload, recover lost shield power, and plot a new strategy.
Portable gravity lifts can be dropped in doorways or narrow corridors, creating a perfect trap for foes. Any enemy foolish enough to wander over one will be thrust upward toward the ceiling and rendered helpless. From here, it's easy to either shoot them or lob a grenade toward the generator (the generator will then hurl the grenade upward) to dispatch the trapped foes.
A power drainer is great to use on a concentrated group of enemies. It rapidly depletes enemy shields, and will kill anything stupid enough to remain in its area of effect. Players can then follow up the drainer's destructive attack with grenades, or simply plow through the problem spot with little resistance.
In multiplayer games, other players' radar can be temporarily wrecked with a radar jammer. This is great for players who like to take the high ground and snipe suckers from a distance, or for less experienced players who rely on praying and spraying or those who like to dispatch their foes close up with melee attacks.

Halo 3 Tips

Trigger Red
Whether you're trying to differentiate an enemy troop from an ally at a distance, or you're scanning the thickly armored legs of a Scarab, let your reticle guide you. If it turns red, let it rip.
High Ground
So often the fields of battle in Halo 3 take place on hillsides or near cliffs. Even indoors, you can often hop atop boxes, or climb a ramp or stairs to a second level. Gain the high ground whenever possible and you'll have a much easier time dispatching enemies and avoiding return fire.
Brutes First
Your primary focus in combat should be to pick off the most powerful enemies first. Usually, this means Brutes. Because Brutes tend to travel in packs, save your grenades and even rocket launcher fire for clearing out entire packs of these formidable opponents. The level design may also assist here. Look closely for exploding canisters near any tight-knit group of enemies.
Run 'em Over
Of course, a well-trained marine can dish out mayhem and death with the rear-mounted chain gun, but don't dismiss the devastation you can cause by simply running over your enemies. Entire camps of Covenant baddies can be cleared in a hurry, whether you're piloting a Warthog, Ghost, Brute Chopper, or even the slower moving Spectre.
Smack Em'… Unless
Melee strikes have always been a staple of the Halo games and Halo 3 is no exception. You can still find great success with one-hit kills when rifle-butting an enemy from behind. That said, you may want to rely a touch less on melee attacks as you do battle with the enormously powerful Brutes. There's more thunder in their fists than even Master Chief's, so watch out.
'Nade Tactics
Proper grenade use is always helpful, but on Hard or Legendary difficulty, it's critical.
Frag: Use these standard-issue grenades for long-distance throws. Unlike their plasma counterparts, these grenades roll after hitting the ground.
Plasma: The plasma grenade's greatest strength is its ability to stick to its target, so use these only when you're close enough for an accurate throw.
Spike: While the spike grenades don't travel as far, they do have a shorter fuse. Launch one at the feet of a group of enemies. They won't have time to flee outside the blast radius.
Brute T-Bone
The Brute Chopper shreds delightfully through enemy vehicles, but if you want to score a guaranteed kill, slam into the side of your enemy. Fender benders and head-on collisions may do damage, but a proper T-bone collision guarantees the most devastating results.
Riding Buddies
Whether it's the fast-traveling Mongoose, the more fearsome Warthog or a Brute Prowler, never ride alone if you can help it. Of course, this is most effective when playing co-op, but you may be surprised at the accuracy of the A.I.-controlled gunners. When entering a vehicle, always wait a second for a buddy to hop onboard.
Open Regeneration
The Halo 3 Regenerator offers Master Chief a quintessential Rambo moment, as you can safely drop the Regenerator (it constantly replenishes your shield) on the field of battle and unleash your wrath without fear of a swift death. This is a great tool to open up a large-scale battle, but make sure you're well within your weapon's effective range before employing this tactic.
Opposite Your Troops
Master Chief is worth an entire platoon of highly-skilled marines on his own, so don't clump up your forces by sticking too close to your allies. Instead, let your marines, and even the Arbiter and his Elites when they're with you, draw the attention of enemy forces. Then, slide along the opposite side of the battlefield to handle additional enemy forces, as well as to flank the foes with which your comrades are engaged.
Shield Hallways
The portable shield generator is nearly always useful, but it really comes into its own in indoor environments, specifically cramped hallways. Drop the shield between Master Chief and a cluster of enemies and then take your time picking them off one by one. Unlike other Halo 3-specific equipment, the portable shield doesn't operate on a timer. Once you've placed it, it's there forever.
Co-Op Compete
Co-op provides great opportunities for strategy. Don't just notch casual kills. Remember, your performance is graded against your friends, so get those grenade-sticks, headshots, multi-kills, and even pick off enemies your buddies have started on.
Keep a competitive mindset when playing co-op and you'll go a long way towards earning a respectable grade.
Co-Op Quadrants
Beyond competing with your friends, you should take full advantage of any cooperative play by breaking up the field of battle. So many confrontations in Halo 3 take place in sprawling "arenas," large open areas filled with enemies. Break down these arenas into separate quadrants, with each player responsible for a particular area of the environment.

Halo 3

Halo 3 serves as a delightful conclusion to the saga of Earth's futuristic war with the theocratic alien race the Covenant. The game puts players in the role of super-soldier Master Chief, dropping them into what can only be considered humanity's last stand. It opens with the specter of annihilation; the covenant has invaded Earth and established a foothold. Beleaguered Earth forces are seeking to regroup and, somehow, counterattack.
Halo 3's pace is frantic, highlighted by the fact that the Chief will need to storm into installations, do his dirty, dangerous work, and then flee the scene with great dispatch. Epic firefights are set up where Chief and his artificial intelligence-controlled cohorts will need to assault armored behemoths, storm alien strongholds, or simply dig the enemy out of entrenched positions. WOW I get chills just thinking about it.I will be inline tonight yahoooooooooo.

Halo 3 giant hammer

Two of the coolest new weapons have been greatly speculated about, if not straight up leaked. Gamers will get a chance to light some baddies on fire, since the flamethrower is included. It is a vast improvement on the flamethrower of Marathon fame Additionally, Halo fans will get a chance to use that giant hammer from the last moments in Halo 2. Both weapons are extremely cool looking, but they are of limited use. It’s kind of like the chainsaw in Gears of War. You can use them at close range effectively, but they’re rather slow getting going and you expose yourself to attacks from all over.

Halo 3 gorgeous graphics and realistic environments

Michael Pachter, a video game analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, told cnn.com that “Halo 3” could sell close to 3 million copies by Tuesday. Other analysts agree.
“This game could sell between 7 million and 8 million units by the end of the year at pretty much full price,” Pachter said, adding that he thinks about half the 11.6 million global users of the Xbox 360 will eventually purchase the game.
OK, you say, a lot of people are shelling out big bucks for this game, but I still don’t know what it is.
Halo is a trilogy of sci-fi, first-person shooter games that pit humans in a guerilla war against a powerful fellowship of alien races known as the Covenant. It’s set on Earth and ring-shaped worlds called halos. The protagonist is Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan-117, or Master Chief, and his image is so iconic he recently became the first video game character included as a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. Master Chief leads a team of armor-suited Marines fighting for Earth’s fledgling interstellar empire. In “Halo,” the humans destroyed the Covenant’s outpost. At the end of “Halo 2,” Master Chief and his merry band fought the Covenant as the aliens invaded Earth.
“Halo 3” promises gamers the same gorgeous graphics and realistic environments seen in the first two games, as well as the distinctive soundtrack that alternately soothes and pounds.

Halo 3 expect huge sales

The first Halo game, Combat Evolved, became the killer application that helped establish the original Xbox in 2001. At a time when many developers make deals to get their new releases onto multiple platforms, an exclusive game can give the Xbox 360 a boost against Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3. "It will be the biggest first-day seller ever … it will grow the installed base," says Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities. With first-day sales of at least 2.5 million (prices range from $60 to $130 for a limited edition), the total could hit $200 million.

With first-day sales of at least 2.5 million (prices range from $60 to $130 for a limited edition), the total could hit $200 million.

“Halo 3” Wireless Controllers

Best Buy, GameStop and a bunch of other major MS partners for the H3 launch have registered combined pre-orders that top 1 million units, which is certainly a premiere for the Xbox platform, and probably a record for other gaming platforms too.
Microsoft announced a variety of new merchandise, related to its Halo 3 launch, including two new Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo 3” Wireless Controllers designed by Spawn and McFarlane Toys creator Todd McFarlane, as well as an Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo 3” Wireless Headset, which lets gamers talk with friends over Xbox LIVE.

Halo 3 Review

In fact, Halo 3 is already a million-seller, and that's been the case since July. Microsoft confidently predicts the release will eclipse movie Spider-Man 3's record day-one revenue, and propel the Halo franchise's total income past the $1 billion mark by the end of 2007. Over 800,000 players checked out the game's beta test earlier this year. It's going to be huge.
2: It's the conclusion of the Halo story
How will Master Chief stop the Covenant activating Halo, wiping out all life in the galaxy? What happened to his companion, Cortana, left behind on the ring itself? Halo developer Bungie has been clear all along -- this game will be the conclusion of the Master Chief's story.
3: It'll be the best place for hot competition on Xbox Live
Even two and a half years after the release of Halo 2, over 300,000 fans are logging onto the Xbox Live network every day to play the game. It's still one of the most popular games on the service, despite several years' worth of flashier, newer releases. In short, if you're looking for a competitive multiplayer experience, Halo 3's going to be the best place to find it.
4: You can "Forge" your own maps
Although Halo 3 comes complete with a selection of multiplayer maps and game styles, it'll let players redesign them to suit their preferences, using a system it calls "Forge." Uniquely, up to eight players can cooperate (or compete) to design maps before jumping into an Xbox Live game set in their own creation.

Halo 3 Banning Scar

Microsoft and Bungie Studios have demonstrated just how serious after they reportedly banned a Halo 3 fan from Xbox Live until the 31st of December 9999.
According to Gamespot, gamer ‘Scar’ was banned from Xbox Live after he managed to get his greedy little paws on the Halo 3 Epsilon test. Scar posted this sorrowful news on the Halo-focussed modding site Se7ensins.com along with a photo of his Xbox Live ban notice.
Apparently after being given the Epsilon build by a friend, he ‘played it for maybe six hours or so alone’ before being booted off every time he tried to load it. He discovered the ban when he tried to sign in the next day.
Scar, who unsurprisingly wants to keep his real name to himself, does not have any plans to appeal the ban. He commented “Other people I know that had this happen to them at the same time as me called support and had no luck,” he rued. “I know of at least 10 others that downloaded it and got banned till 9999.” Imagine that, after cheating Microsoft they don’t want to give you any support.

Halo 3 Game Plot

The game will not begin right where Halo 2 left off. Instead, the comic mini-series, Halo: Uprising, will bridge the story gap between the ending of Halo 2, and the beginning of Halo 3. When the game begins, Master Chief is back on a thoroughly conquered and Covenant controlled Earth. Covenant ships are hovering over an excavation site a few miles from the ruins of New Mombasa and have uncovered a large artifact in this site, and Cortana is still the prisoner of Gravemind. The Arbiter, along with the some Elites have split from the Covenant during the civil war at the end of Halo 2; it has been hinted that the Grunts and the Hunters have joined with the Elites, but recent promotional media show that at least some of the Grunts have sided with the Brutes. The Achievements show the story mode will be divided into nine main levels, which gives some information about the game's length and an indistinct view of the story arc. Recent promotional items have had a strong memorial feeling to them, hinting at the demise of Master Chief, though strictly through speculative circumstantial evidence
